CCER is the abbreviation of Chinese Certified Emission Reduction, which is registered in the national registry and traded in the recorded trading institutions. Domestic and foreign institutions, enterprises, groups and individuals can participate in the trading of voluntary greenhouse gas emission reductions. According to the “Rules for Carbon Emission Trading Management” officially released on January 5, 2021, key emission enterprises can use CCERs up to 5% of their total carbon emission allowances to offset their own emissions each year.
